As the clock ticks towards 7:00am, homeless children start gathering around Pastor David, their eyes betraying hunger and anticipation.

One particular child, Tiktok as refered to by his mates, whose health seems fragile, is encouraged by his peers to partake in the meal.

Ivan and Ahumuza, beneficiaries of Pastor David's compassion, shared their stories of hardship and homelessness.
“During my P.5 christmas holiday, I escaped from home in Isingiro without notifying my mother and siblings after I had been influenced by a friend that there were better opportunities of working in Kampala,” Ahumuza remembered.
“While coming, I and my friend didn’t have transport so we jumped onto a lorry that was carrying matooke and its on it that we arrived Kampala, Upon arrival, we started sleeping at City Square and collecting plastics for sale in order to survive,” he said.
Similar to Ahumuza’s story is Ivan's who also jumped onto a cargo moving truck from Lira to Kampala after being abandoned by his aunt who was his caretaker at that time, in his thought at that time, surviving in the city seemed a dream of opportunities.
